Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture continues to bring famous architects together with its students and the architectural environment. The second guest of the 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester was Architect Burçin Yıldırım, Co-Founder of PAB Architecture Office. The event was held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 15.00, with the title of “Stretching the Walls”.

FMV IŞIK UNIVERSITY, BEYKENT UNIVERSITY AND ISTANBUL KÜLTÜR UNIVERSITY JOINT ONLINE WORKSHOP ORGANIZATION & “SPACE IN PANDEMIC: THE USE OF INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SPACE DURING THE LOCKDOWN IN PANDEMIC”

The joint workshop, which is a part of the research project titled “Space in Pandemic: The Use of Indoor and Outdoor Space during the Lockdown in Pandemic” organized by FMV Işık University and SPACE Studies of Planning and Architecture, was held online on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

“ABOUT THE AESTHETIC OF THE CLIMATE ANTHROPOCENE ART AND ITS ARCHITECTURE”

The Department of Architecture invited Dr. Eray Çaylı, one of the academicians of London School of Economics in the scope of the doctorate program course titled “Sustainable Architecture” lectured by Prof. Dr. Emel Birer. At the event held on Tuesday, November 2 at 13.00, our guest talked about his book on "Anthropocene and Architecture". The concept of Anthropocene was discussed with questions. BUILDING CATALOG EVENTS - MATERIAL TRENDS PODCAST SERIES #5 & FLEXIBILITY IN SPACE DESIGNS

Assist. Prof. Esin Hasgül, an academician from the Department of Architecture at Istanbul Kültür University, held an interview titled "Material Trends Podcast Series #5 & Flexibility in Space Designs" as part of the Building Catalog events on October 15, 2021. In the event; Issues such as the importance of flexibility in space designs, the concept of open plan that flexibility is associated with, and the role of the architect in flexible design were discussed in detail.

ABDURRAHMAN ÇEKİM FROM BARAKA ARCHITECTURE WAS THE FIRST GUEST OF THE ARCHITECTURE TALKS

The first guest of the 2021-2022 Fall Term Architecture Talks organized by the Department of Architecture of Istanbul Kultur University was Abdurrahman Çekim from Baraka Architecture. Çekim met with the students and academicians of the Department of Architecture at the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall on Monday, October 11, with her presentation on "Searching, Understanding, Collecting". Students and academics showed great interest in the conference, which was held face-to-face after the pandemic.

HOUYEM SNENE, A GRADUATE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE, HAS BEEN ACCEPTED TO THE 4CITIES ERASMUS MUNDUS JOINT MASTER PROGRAM WITH 100% SCHOLARSHIP

Houyem Snene, a 2020 graduate of the Istanbul Kultur University (IKU) Department of Architecture, was selected among 970 applicants and accepted to the 4Cities Erasmus Mundus Joint Master program with a 100% scholarship. 4Cities Erasmus Mundus Joint Master is an urban planning master's program that continues in the first semester in Brussels and the next three semesters in Vienna, Copenhagen and Madrid. Congratulations to our graduate.
