ARCHITECTURE CLUB “AFTER IKU” INTERVIEW

The Architecture Club organized an interview titled "After IKU"  for architects who graduated from IKU Department of Architecture to share their professional life experiences with our students.  The event, in which Dicle Hökenek, Celil Demirsoy, Bedirhan Koç, Yıldız Bayer, Aslı Altunkaynak, Serra Bozanoğlu, Cansu Özdil and Hamza Sabano were speakers, took place on Monday, 28 February at 15.00 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

"ARCHITECTURE TALKS: GÖKHAN AVCIOĞLU”

Architect Gökhan Avcıoğlu, who is known for his national and international award-winning projects, was the guest of the "Architecture Talks" series traditionally organized by the Department of Architecture of Istanbul Kültür University. In the events which was realized on Thursday February 24, 2022 Avcıoğlu, who told about his domestic and international projects at the conference held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall, also conveyed his work on GAD Academy to the students.

OUR ARCHITECTURE DEPARTMENT STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THE "OPEN ARCHITECTURE" PROGRAM

Kubilay Ercelep and Serap Kaçmaz, students of the Department of Architecture at Istanbul Kültür University, and Sarp Özgen, a student of Istanbul Bilgi University, were guests of the "Open Architecture" program broadcast on Açık Radyo. In the program, how and why students got involved in Architecture for All, the working practices of the association and possible transformations for the coming years were discussed.

DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE DIPLOMA GROUP FIELD TRIP

Department of Architecture (English Programme) Diploma Project group visited the selected project areas within the scope of cooperation with Fatih Municipality, together with our Prof. Dr. Dean Neslihan Dostoğlu and one of our academics, Assist. Prof. Emre Arslan, on Wednesday, February 16. Within the framework of the visit, a seminar was given to our students first. Afterwards, the project plots were examined in detail and the biennial in the restored Yedikule Fortress was visited.

THE INVENTION OF ASSIST. PROF. N. ÖMER SAATCIOĞLU IS NATIONALLY REGISTERED

The invention of Assist. Prof N. Ömer Saatcıoğlu from the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture academics, titled “A Masonry Straw Bale Wall System That is Resistant to External Threats” is nationally registered on behalf of our university on 22.11.2021. The process is continuing for the patent’s international registration.

THE ARTICLE TITLED “ROLE OF PUBLIC SPACE DESIGN ON THE PERCEPTION OF HISTORICAL ENVIRONMENT: A PILOT STUDY IN AMASYA” OF PROF. DR. EMEL BİRER IS PUBLISHED

The article of Prof. Dr. Emel Birer, one of the academics from the Department of Architecture, titled “Role of Public Space Design on the Perception of Historical Environment: A Pilot Study in Amasya” prepared together with Assist. Prof. Pınar Çalışır Adem, is published in Frontiers of Architectural Research Journal scanned by Arts&Humanities Citation Index.
