Res. Assist. İdil Akkuzu of Department of Architecture attended the final jury of “Project I” course given in the Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture. In the jury the projects created in the scope of "3R Reuse-Recycle-Repair" by the first-year students of Departments of Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning and Landscape Architecture were discussed.

In the scope of “Basic Design” course of the Department of Architecture and exhibiton moderated by Research Assistant Hilal Iavarone and Assist. Prof. Emre Arslan, has been opened by our students. The exhibition, in which it includes the works of an entire year, can be visited in the second floor hall.

The "Most Successful Project Awards", traditionally organized by the Architecture Department of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU), were given to the owners of the 2020-2021 Academic Year Spring Semester with the ceremony held on Monday, December 20. We congratulate our award-winning students Gizem Berra Memiş, Melisa Meriç, Buse Nas Yazıcı, Şimal Kalkan, Didem Özdemir, Fulya Sena Bilici, Elif Güçlüyeter and Zehra Güloğlu and wish them continued success.

As part of the 2021-2022 Academic Year Fall Semester events of the Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture, a panel titled Participation in Architecture and Planning: Challenges and Opportunities was held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 15.30. The moderator of the panel was Asst. Prof. Z. Ayşe Gökşin, in which Istanbul City Council President Tülin Hadi, Gazhane Environmental Volunteers Nesrin Uçar and Işık Demirtaş, and Architecture for All Association İbrahim Emre Gündoğdu and Merve Gül Özokcu participated as speakers.

An interactive panel was held at Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center on Thursday, December 9, in cooperation with IKU Architecture Club and YapıArch. Burak Pekoğlu and Murat Şahin were guests of the event, and many students from the Department of Architecture attended the event. A certificate of participation was also given to the students at the event.

An article by Res. Asst. A. Hilal Iavarone, a faculty member of the Department of Architecture, titled “The Mediatic State of Architectural Representation as a Definition of Simulacrum” was published in the Gedik University Modular journal.

Megaron Roof Technologies, one of the most well-known tile manufacturers in Turkey, was hosted by the Department of Architecture on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, within the scope of “MIM3020 Building Science 2” and “ARC3020 Building Science 2” courses. Our students took an active role in the on-site tile roof application, which was followed by Senior Civil Engineer Mert Bıçakçı's comprehensive presentation on clay and cement-based tiles.

As part of "Atatürk Week", Department of Architecture held a panel titled "ATATÜRK; Time, Place Life" on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 15.00 at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall. In the event; The book titled "ATATÜRK; Time Space Life" published by ATAYURT Publishing House, co-authored by Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu, our Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, and Asst. Prof. Gamze Alptekin, an academician of the Department of Architecture, was introduced.
