Within the scope of the "MIMY0411 Urban Transformation: Historical Process, Principles and Practices" course conducted by Prof. Dr. Evrim Töre in the Department of Architecture, Urban Planning Master Program, an e-seminar titled "On Mega Projects in Istanbul and Their Effects" was held on Thursday, April 29th. Yildiz Technical University faculty member Assoc. Prof. Senem Kozaman, who participated in the event as a speaker, talked about the factors that affect the emergence of mega projects in the world and in Turkey, project examples and possible economic, ecological and social impacts of the projects. Assoc. Prof. Kozaman also gave information about the mega projects that are taking place in Istanbul and are in the planning process. The seminar contributed to the ongoing discussion on these issues by drawing attention to the 'basic' needs such as food and water, which are rising against the 'mega' needs, projects and investments.
