MODEL COMPETITION WITH KALEBODUR

Date: 21/12/2020

Bedirhan Koç

Bedirhan Koç, a graduate of IKU Architecture Department, won the Equivalent 2nd Prize in the Model Contest with Kalebodur with his model named "Knitting the Space", which he designed with his teammate Gülsen Şenol. We congratulate our graduate and wish him continued success.

The 'Knitting the Void' experience aims to define a new experience of emptiness in the lexicon of the city, nature and people, inspired by the knitted structure of the fabric. The journey that human beings tear the full into with their own senses opens the weave of the body with the echo of movement, offers an unexpected encounter with emptiness and 'any', and is knitted with the closure of the body and entrusts it again to the fast and full 'ground'. Pieces of cloth lined up one after another blur the boundaries between the outside and inside with the linear and hollow carriers on which they are articulated, and examine the influence of the 'any' on the space, human and body.
