Within the scope of the preparatory studies carried out for the course “ARC0006 Architectural Design 6,” which will be offered in the Spring Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year in the Department of Architecture, the project coordinators Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Asiye Akgün Gültekin, Assist. Prof. Ceren Göğüş, and Res. Assist. Merve Aksoy Oral met with Bakırköy Municipality Deputy Mayor Abdülhamit Pehlivan on January 21, 2026.

The "Best Project Exhibition and Awards", organized by the Department of Architecture, was held on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in the C corridor on the 2nd floor at the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy Campus.

The award winners, in a ceremony attended by faculty members and students, are as follows:

As part of the events organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture, an event titled “Current Works, Methods, and Academic Collaborations in Architecture and Urban Design” was held. The event featured Architect Erhan Vural, a well-known professional in the field, who shared insights into current practices and approaches in architecture and urban design. The event took place on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Dr. Suzan Sanlı Esin, a faculty member of the Department of Architecture, was featured in “The Bloomsbury Global Encyclopedia of Women in Architecture 1960-2020". This encyclopedia fills a significant gap in architectural history by providing students, academics, and professional architects with comprehensive information about women architects and their works.

The project by the IKU Department of Architecture alumni Caner Bilgin and Begüm Yılmaz Bilgin is among the shortlisted projects from Türkiye for the World Architecture Festival 2025.

Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture organized an international symposium titled “Architectural Episodes 03: Innovation, Technology, Digital Transformation and the Future of the Construction Industry” on April 10-11, 2025, in the Önder Öztunalı Conference at in the Bakırköy campus Ataköy building. Prof. Dr. Salih Ofluoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture at Antalya Bilim University, Dr. Adil Orçun Kaya, ISTON Quality and Research Development Manager, Architect Melike Altınışık, Founder of MAA Architects, and Prof. Dr.

Prof. Dr. Ayhan Usta and Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta, members of the Faculty of Architecture at Istanbul Kültür University, received the “Honorable Mention Award” in the Kadıköy Municipality Service Building Architectural Project Competition. We congratulate our professors and their teams and wish them continued success.

Within the scope of the “Workshop II” course conducted by the Department of Architecture academicians Prof. Dr. Esin Kasapoğlu and Assoc. Prof. Gamze Alptekin, a seminar on ceramic façade systems was given by Kaleseramik Çanakkale Kalebodur Ceramic Industry Joint Stock Company Key Customers and Architects Sales Manager, Civil Engineer Yağızhan Ertuğrul, on Tuesday, March 25.

Within the scope of the “Workshop II” course conducted by Prof. Dr. Esin Kasapoğlu and Assoc. Prof. Gamze Alptekin from the Department of Architecture, Silkar Mining’s Showroom in Bayrampaşa was visited on Tuesday, April 15. As part of the visit, students attended a seminar on laminated natural stone facade panel systems delivered by Fırat Laçin, Master of Mining Engineering and Retail Sales Manager.

Within the scope of the "ARC0802 Workshop II" course conducted by Prof. Dr. Esin Kasapoğlu and Assoc. Prof. Gamze Alptekin from the Department of Architecture (English Program), a trip was organized to the "Avenue Bakırköy" construction site in Bakırköy, whose employer is Kiptaş, and whose contractors are Nuhoğlu Group and the Trend-Onur Alkan Partnership, through the mediation of Assist. Prof. Selen Yazıcı.
