“MODERN AND POST APPROACHES IN THE 20TH CENTURY ARCHITECTURE ENVIRONMENT” SEMINAR

Within the scope of the “Contemporary Architecture and Famous Architects” course conducted under the coordination of Faculty Member of the Department of Architecture Assoc. Prof. Yasemin Erkan Yazıcı, student of IKU Architectural Design Master’s Degree Program Setenay Karaarslan held a seminar titled “Modern and Post Approaches in the 20th Century Architecture Environment” on March 4, 2021.

“QUESTIONING THE ARCHITECT-IDENTITY RELATIONSHIP IN THE CONTEXT OF TODAY’S ARCHITECTURE”

In the context of “Today’s Architecture and Famous Architects” course, coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Yasemin Erkan Yazıcı, Çağla Öz, one of the students from the Master Program of IKU Architectural Design organized a seminar titled “Questioning the Architect-Identity Relationship in the Context of Today’s Architecture” on February 25, 2021, Thursday. In the context of the seminar, Öz shared her analysis and evaluations on Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid’s architectural language to students.

“RAIL SYSTEM PROJECTS” SEMINAR

A seminar, which was coordinated by one of our academicians from the Department of Architecture Assoc. Prof. Yasemin Erkan Yazıcı, was given by Master Architect Elif Araç about the rail system projects on February 24, 2021, Wednesday at 09.00 in the context of “MIM0080 Kirazlı Transfer Centre” diploma project, conducted by Assist. Prof. Asiye Akgün Gültekin, Assist. Prof. Gamze Özkaptan Alptekin and Research Assistant Dilara Gür.

Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta and Prof. Dr. Ayhan Usta win the 5th Honorable Mention in the "Bursa Atatürk Sports Hall National Architectural Project Competition"

The team, in which Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department Head Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta and Architecture Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Ayhan Usta assumed the leadership role, won the 5th Honorable Mention Award in the "Bursa Atatürk Sports Hall National Architectural Project Competition" in which 111 projects participated.

"Roof Technologies Education"

Within the scope of the "MIM3020 Building Information II" course conducted by Assist. Prof. Gamze Alptekin and Res. Asst. Pınar Turan in the Department of Architecture, an e-seminar titled "Roof Technologies Education" was organized for the 3rd semester students on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

Assist. Prof. Esin Hasgül Gave a PRESENTATION at the Workshop TITLED "SPATIAL COLLECTIVE Ideas and DESIGNS DURING the PANDEMIC Process and Afterwards"

Assist. Prof. Esin Hasgül, one of the academicians of Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture and a member of the Design Guides team, gave a presentation as an invited speaker at the online workshop titled “Spatial Collective Ideas and Designs During the Pandemic Process and Afterwards” organized by Kocaeli University Architecture Department on Sunday, December 20, 2020. In the workshop, which was held open to architecture students, it was aimed to create ideas and designs based on spatial fictions for during the pandemic process and afterwards. "BIM: 4D, 5D and Rule Based Controls" E-Panel

Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture organized an e-panel titled "BIM: 4D, 5D and Rule Based Controls" on Wednesday, December 23 at 20:00, where current issues and studies in architecture were discussed.

Architect & BIM Manager Barış Canpolat, Prof. Dr. Salih Ofluoğlu and Dr. Ahmet Turan Köksal were the speakers of the event and Assist. Prof. Emrah Türkyılmaz, one of our academicians from the Architecture Department, was the moderator.

The panel, attended by two hundred people, can be watched on the Faculty of Architecture YouTube channel.

Bedirhan Koç, a graduate of the Department of ARCHITECTURE, won the EQUIVALENT Second PRIZE IN the Modeling COMPETETION WITH Glazed TILE

Bedirhan Koç, a graduate of IKU Architecture Department, won the Equivalent 2nd prize in the Modeling Competition with Glazed Tile with the model named "Knitting the Gap", which he designed with his teammate Gülsen Şenol. We congratulate our graduate and wish him continued success.
