As part of the lecture series organized by the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture, Istanbul Kültür University, esteemed architect Han Tümertekin met with students and academics on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 15:00 in the Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall at the Ataköy Campus.
In his talk titled “2 Continents, 1 Island,” Tümertekin shared insights into Istanbul’s architectural identity as a bridge between Europe and Asia, its spatial experience, and selected aspects of his own design practice.
Having taught architecture at prestigious institutions such as Harvard GSD, EPFL, and ESA Paris, Tümertekin is the recipient of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (2004). In 2024, he was also awarded the Mimar Sinan Grand Prize.
The event concluded with strong participation from students and academic staff of the department.
