IKU FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE DEAN PROF. DR. NESLİHAN DOSTOĞLU ATTENDED EAAE MEETING IN MADRID

Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Faculty of Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu attended the international conference titled “TOWARDS A NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS: Challenges in Design Education & Research” organized by EAAE (European Association for Architectural Education) between 31 August and 4 September 2022 in Madrid, the capital of Spain. Presenting her paper titled “CHALLENGES IN ACHIEVING GENDER EQUALITY IN ARCHITECTURE” orally at the conference, Prof. Dr. Dostoğlu also attended the EAAE Annual General Assembly.

Prof. Dr. Emel Birer, one of our academicians from Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Architecture, attended the “EAAE 2022 TOWARDS A NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS Challenges in Design Education & Research” conference organized by EAAE (European Association for Architectural Education) in Madrid-Spain on August 31-September 4, 2022.

“PANDEMI & SPACE” EXHIBITION AND PANEL

The results of the research project named “Use of indoor and outdoor space during the lockdown period due to the pandemic” carried out in cooperation with FMV Işık University, Department of Architecture and SPACE Studies of Planning and Architecture with the support of FMV Işık University Scientific Research Projects was shared with an exhibition and a panel at Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA) Florya Campus on Monday, July 18, 2022.“PANDEMİ & MEKAN” Sergi ve Paneli

"NATIONAL KUŞADASI SUMMER SCHOOL" WORKSHOP PARTICIPATION AND ORGANIZING

The "National Kuşadası Summer School" was held between 25 June and 4 July 2022, with the sponsorship of the İzmir Branch of Chamber of Architects, TMMOB Chamber of Architects Kuşadası Representative Office, Architecture Foundation Initiatives and Kuşadası Municipality, and with the support of Design Guides Application and Research Association (TARGE). In the 10-day summer school, an executive group of diverse fields and disciplines was formed.

PROJECTS WERE DISPLAYED UNDER THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND THE MUNICIPALITY OF FATİH

Within the scope of the cooperation between Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Architecture and Fatih Municipality during the 2021-22 Spring Term; in the "Architectural Design" and "Interior Architecture Design" studios and "Diploma" projects in the Department of Architecture and the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, students were given various subjects in the Historic Peninsula within the borders of Fatih Municipality. In this context, the students taken to the fields had the opportunity to make an on-site examination.

ISTANBUL METROPOLITAN BRANCH TRAKYA (BAKIRKÖY) AGENCY SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Under the internship protocol signed between Istanbul Kültür University and the Istanbul Metropolitan Branch of the Chamber of Architects, Trakya (Bakırköy) Agency, a summer internship program will be implemented for the students of IKU Department of Architecture  between July 18 and August 15, 2022. In the internship program, which will be implemented with the participation of 20 students and lecturers from the IKU Department of Architecture , the layers of the city will be redesigned with today’s technologies.

SALEM ALİ MOHAMED MOHAMED FROM THE FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, HUNGARIAN UNIVERSITY OF PÉCS, ATTENDED THE "ENERGY EFFICIENT DESIGN AND LIFE CYCLE COSTS" PH.D. COURSE

In the "Energy Efficient Design and Life Cycle Costs" doctoral course led by Prof. Dr. Esra Bostancıoğlu who is Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Architecture & a faculty member of the Department of Architecture, Salem Ali Mohamed Mohamed from Hungary University of Pécs, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, made a presentation titled "Model Simplification on Energy and Simulation Analysis for Residential Comfort Building Design".

ASSIST. PROF. CEREN GÖĞÜŞ MADE A PRESENTATION TITLED “LATE OTTOMAN-GERMAN RELATIONS AND TWO RESULTING ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS”

Assist. Prof. Ceren Göğüş from Department of Architecture participated in the seminar within the scope of “An Imported Idea of Modernity: German Architects in Turkey 1923 to 1950” lecture in the master program of Prof. Dr. Raimund Fein and Dr. Evin Eris’s BTU Brandenburgische Technische Universitaet, World Heritage School on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. She made a presentation titled “Late Ottoman-German Relations and Two Resulting Architectural Projects” at the seminar.
